Actor Max Huang, who played Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat 2, confirms filming completion.

Actor Max Huang, famed for his role as Kung Lao in the Mortal Kombat movie series, recently shared an update on the sequel’s filming progress. Filming for Mortal Kombat 2 resumed following strikes in November 2023.

Huang announced on Instagram that principal photography for the sequel has concluded.

He also posted behind-the-scenes images from the wrap party featuring fellow cast members.

Responses to Huang’s post flooded in from various cast members, including Lewis Tan and Desmond Chiam, expressing excitement and camaraderie. Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jax, commented on the unity among the cast.

Although the release date for Mortal Kombat 2 has not been announced, this update heightens anticipation for fans eagerly awaiting the sequel since the first film’s release in 2021.

Directed by Simon McQuoid, the movie is written by Ed Boon, Jeremy Slater, and John Tobias.

The cast includes returning actors such as Josh Lawson, Jessica McNamee, Ludi Lin, Joe Taslim, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, and Max Huang.
