Prepare your belongings because we’re journeying back to Camp Half-Blood! Disney has given the green light for a second season of “Percy Jackson,” as reported by Deadline. This announcement follows the tremendous success of the first season, titled “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.”
During Disney’s Q1 earnings call for 2024, CEO Bob Iger personally confirmed the renewal for Season 2. Fans can rejoice as Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, portraying Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood respectively, are all set to return to camp.
In anticipation of the upcoming season, discussions have already begun about the importance of Tyson, Percy’s half-brother, in Season 2. The storyline for the new season will be adapted from “The Sea of Monsters,” the second book in Rick Riordan’s immensely popular “Percy Jackson” series, which boasts a massive fanbase.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Riordan stated, “I can’t wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+!” He rallied the demigods, saying, “Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We’re heading for the Sea of Monsters!”
This renewal news arrives just a week after the conclusion of Season 1 on Disney+. Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, highlighted the series’ widespread appeal, noting its magic, wonder, adventure, and heartfelt moments that captivated audiences of all ages.
Davis expressed excitement for the forthcoming journey, stating, “We’re thrilled to embark on an exciting new quest and a season two with Rick Riordan, our fantastic partners at 20th Television, and the exceptional ensemble of cast and creative talent that bring this story to life.”
