Natalie Portman shared that she possesses several hammers from the film “Thor: Love and Thunder” at her residence. Following her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Avengers: Endgame,” Portman played a significant role in the 2022 movie “Thor: Love and Thunder” alongside Chris Hemsworth. Similar to the comics, her character Jane Foster took on the mantle of the God of Thunder, fighting alongside Hemsworth’s Thor and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie against Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. It appears that Portman acquired her own replica of Mjolnir as a keepsake from the film.
During her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” this week, Portman discussed her Thor hammer. After exchanging New Year’s greetings, Jimmy Kimmel inquired, “Do you actually have a hammer of Thor?” Portman replied, “I do. They gave me the memorabilia one that no one’s allowed to touch, and then I also have my stunt practice Hammer which gets more use.”
Naturally, Kimmel was curious about the practicality of owning Mjolnir. “Well, my kids know not to try and harm with it, but I have to be careful when kids visit the house. It’s heavy. It can do damage.”
At the 2024 Golden Globes, Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and Natalie Portman met for the first time, portraying characters who are father and daughter in the Star Wars Universe. Hamill shared a social media post featuring a backstage photo with Portman, captioned, “Now I have finally met my ‘mother,’ thanks to the @goldenglobes.”
This long-awaited meeting between the two celebrities has been anticipated by Star Wars fans for over two decades since Portman’s debut in the 1999 prequel film “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Hamill surprised many fans in June 2018 by revealing that he had never met Portman, despite their on-screen relationship. Despite this, Hamill expressed his determination to make it happen, referring to it as a priority on his 2020 agenda.
Portman, for her part, has also expressed her willingness to meet Hamill. When the public reacted to Hamill’s 2018 statement, Portman invited him to meet during an appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
