Footballer Sadio Mane, formerly of Liverpool, is said to have recently married his 19-year-old girlfriend, Aisha Tamba. On Tuesday, January 9, Mane shared some of his wedding photos on the social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), where he received congratulations from numerous fans. According to reports from the Daily Mail, the secret wedding ceremony took place in Senegal on Sunday, January 7, in the Keur Massar area of the capital city, Dakar.
The guest list reportedly included family, friends, and fellow footballers.
The 31-year-old athlete tied the knot with his teenage bride just days before leading Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, as reported by The Sun.
Mane has expressed his happiness and gratitude for the congratulatory messages, including those from the President. He mentioned, “Honestly, I am happy [with] the fact the President has congratulated me just as much as, well, I would say not just my team-mates.
I think that all the people have congratulated me and wished me [luck], so I am happy and I hope that it’ll be okay,” as quoted on Tuesday.
