Selena Gomez, who frequently takes breaks from social media, has decided to step back from online platforms again after becoming the subject of fan-generated drama surrounding the Golden Globes. In an Instagram Story, Gomez informed her followers about her temporary departure, stating, “I’m off social for a while. I’m focusing on what really matters,” alongside a video featuring her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, with kids.
Earlier that day, Gomez addressed speculation arising from Golden Globes footage that went viral, where fans thought Keleigh Sperry mentioned “with Timothée!?” based on lip movements, suggesting that Kylie Jenner had blocked Gomez from taking a photo with Timothée Chalamet.
In response to an Instagram post from E! News discussing the incident, Gomez clarified, “Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone’s business.”
A source close to Gomez had already informed People on Monday that she was not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie, emphasizing that Gomez never interacted with Jenner and Chalamet at the Globes.
Timothée Chalamet addressed the faux controversy when questioned by a TMZ photographer on Monday night. He affirmed that he and Gomez were on good terms and dismissed any notion of tension between Jenner and Gomez, stating, “We’re all good.”
