Director Matthew Vaughn has unveiled some intriguing insights about an upcoming action film he’s producing. This untitled project will feature Chris Hemsworth from the MCU and Extraction fame, alongside Oscar winner Sam Rockwell. Vaughn claims the movie will set new benchmarks and revolutionize the genre, akin to the impact of “Kick-Ass.” He describes it as “very, very special” and expects it to break “world records” while being written and directed by his stunt team.
Vaughn, in conversation with Josh Horowitz, hinted at the film’s uniqueness and the involvement of Hemsworth and Rockwell. Despite keeping plot details secret, he promises a reinvented action experience with 56 remarkable action sequences, blended with humor and originality. Vaughn emphasizes the integration of stunts and acting, praising stunt performers as “real superheroes.”
He specifically mentions Hemsworth’s prior collaboration with stuntman-turned-director Sam Hargrave in the Extraction series, indicating a similar dynamic in this project. Vaughn expresses admiration for stunt performers, underscoring their underappreciated role in the film industry.
Meanwhile, Sam Rockwell is currently showcasing his action chops in Vaughn’s spy comedy, “Argylle.” Directed and produced by Vaughn, the film features an ensemble cast including Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, and others. “Argylle” follows the adventures of a fictional spy brought to life when the plots of his novels mirror real-life espionage.
