According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 18 is anticipated to be the most significant software update in the history of the iPhone. Gurman stated in his Power On newsletter last week that within the company, the new operating system is regarded as one of the largest updates, if not the largest, ever.
Gurman intends to reveal more specifics about the features and changes of iOS 18 in the future. However, two new additions are already expected to be part of the update: RCS support for the Messages app and an upgraded version of Siri featuring generative AI functionality akin to ChatGPT.
The release of iOS 18 is scheduled for September, with the initial beta version for developers likely to be available during Apple’s annual WWDC conference in June.
